Join us for the July Ecosystem workshop!

Get access to this workshop when you subscribe to The Ecosystem!

"The Ecosystem" is one of Terra Incognita Media's monthly membership spaces where you're invited to learn/unlearn, commiserate, and be affirmed in community.

For $10 a month you get access to our monthly workshop (July's workshop is described below), our "Fuck John Muir" zine, and access to the group chat! (More goodies will be added as we grow).

Podia (this platform) is a little weird to navigate, so in order to access this workshop for only $10 you have to subscribe to the Ecosystem.

Otherwise, you can purchase the workshop through this page for a one-time payment of $20.

If you want to upgrade and join the higher tier, "The Terra Collective," you'll have access to everything in the Ecosystem tier, including this workshop. Note: the Terra Collective is for women, trans, gender non-conforming, non-binary, and genderqueer folks only.

Each month, Erin Monahan, founder of Terra Incognita Media will host a live, virtual workshop focusing on anything and everything under the umbrella of feminist critique of the outdoor industry.

Got questions? Shoot Erin an email at heyterracollective@gmail.com and she'll respond promptly.

All About July's Workshop:

This month we're focusing on how Augusto Boal, founder of Theatre of the Oppressed, critiqued the "hero's journey" because of how it pacifies audience instead of motivates them to take radical action against our oppressors.

We're going to dissect outdoor films like Free Solo, The Dark Wizard, Resistance Climbing, Meru, The Devil’s Climb, and more, end up sedating viewers from taking real-world action towards environmental justice and fighting back against climate chaos. Don't worry, you don't have to watch these to partake in the workshop!

You can look forward to a somatic exercise, a journal prompt, and lively, supportive, compassionate group discussion.

This is intended to be a safe(r) space and by signing up you agree to adhere to Terra Incognita Media's values and guidelines. These will be read at the beginning of each workshop.

Erin Monahan (she/her)

Erin is the founder of Terra Incognita Media and a settler on the traditional and stolen lands of the Osage, Miami, and Oceti Sakowin peoples, otherwise known as St. Louis, Missouri. She is a writer, advocate, educator, and a trauma-informed mindset and embodiment coach with a background in anti-oppressive facilitation.

Erin is driven to cultivate a nourishing, supportive, survivor-centered community through her work. Her dream is to build Terra Incognita Media into a robust educational platform for folks who strive to dismantle rape culture in the outdoor industry and beyond --not rooted just in theory, but in action! (She also dreams of opening her own climbing gym co-op one day as a safer climbing space for women, non-binary, femmes, two-spirit and trans folks....)

Can't wait to talk shit about mainstream outdoor films with you!
