Each month, Erin Monahan, founder of Terra Incognita Media will host a live, virtual workshop focusing on anything and everything under the umbrella of feminist critique of the outdoor industry.

This month we're focusing on the colonial/imperialist roots of mountaineering, the myth of "terra incognita," wilderness as a construct, and of course, we'll sprinkle a little "fuck John Muir" in there.
Bonus points if you wear your "Stop Glorifying John Muir" Terra tee to the workshop!
We'll also do a somatic exercise, explore a journal prompt, and we'll end with a group discussion!
This is intended to be a safe(r) space and by signing up you agree to adhere to Terra Incognita Media's values and guidelines. These will be read at the beginning of each workshop.

Erin is the founder of Terra Incognita Media and a settler on the traditional and stolen lands of the Osage, Miami, and Oceti Sakowin peoples, otherwise known as St. Louis, Missouri. She is a writer, advocate, educator, and a trauma-informed mindset and embodiment coach with a background in anti-oppressive facilitation.
Erin is driven to cultivate a nourishing, supportive, survivor-centered community through her work. Her dream is to build Terra Incognita Media into a robust educational platform for folks who strive to dismantle rape culture in the outdoor industry and beyond --not rooted just in theory, but in action! (She also dreams of opening her own climbing gym co-op one day as a safer climbing space for women, non-binary, femmes, two-spirit and trans folks....)
